Your About section in 3 versions
Give us your role and three achievements. You get three complete, ready-to-paste About sections, each inside the limit LinkedIn actually enforces.
You fill in your role and three achievements or skills — the concrete facts the text will lean on. The years-of-experience field is optional: it only calibrates the seniority of the story.
You pick a tone — professional, storytelling, creative or punchy — and an AI writes three complete About sections. Each one structures the same material differently: one opens on the client problem, another on the journey, the third on hard numbers.
Every variant shows its character count against the 2,600-character limit LinkedIn enforces. A variant that runs over is discarded before you see it, and the text keeps its line breaks so copy-paste preserves the formatting.
- The first three lines decide the rest
- LinkedIn shows roughly 250 characters before the "see more" button. If those three lines walk through your career from the start, nobody clicks. Open on tension: the problem you remove, or a claim that commits to something.
- Write in the first person
- Third person ("Hugo helps companies…") reads like a company boilerplate. "I" turns a page into a conversation, and that is the format B2B buyers actually read to the end.
- Name an audience, a problem, a proof point
- An About section that converts answers three questions in order: who I speak to, what problem I make disappear, and what proves I can. A chronological career story answers none of them.
- 2,600 characters, but you rarely need them all
- The About section caps at 2,600 characters. That is not a target: 1,200 to 1,800 characters, broken into short paragraphs, reads in one go. Past that you lose mobile readers, who are the majority.
- End with a next step
- Once convinced, a visitor needs to know what to do. One explicit closing line — "Message me if you want to talk it through" — is worth more than three extra paragraphs about your expertise.
